My name is Niko Garcia. I have been playing
basketball since I was five years old. I am a son of
a coach and have been in the gyms ever since I
can remember. I have played on numerous teams
and high school teams. I also love playing football,
which I have played since I was young as well,
and played football throughout my high school
career as a running back.I believe in setting
goals, having exceptional work ethic, putting up
shots, consistency working on my game daily
with my hard work I am hoping it will translate
over to my life as well. I would like to continue my
basketball career and possibly doing so I would
like to return home and be a role model for the
youth. I always believe in getting good grades in
school being a good student overall because I
believe being successful in basketball begins in
the classroom.
Niko Garcia is a late addition to Next Bench. In the short time I have known him we saw a talented player who is stout, strong , and can handle the inside and outside. He is a solid shooting guard, he can shoot from multiple areas on the court. He has proven to be a vital asset in scoring, with recognition for scoring over 1000 career points. He averaged 19 points per game with a total of 571 points this season. He had several games this seasons scoring as high as 30 points. A offensive rebounder is also an area he has been productive, average was 3 rebounds per game on offensive end, with a total of 108 offense rebounds for senior season.
As a defensive player he is known for his ability to read the pass and grab steals, he has lead in steals with 43 for the season and averaged 1 to 3 per game. He is not afraid to take a charge. With his body build and football experience he has been able to use his physical contact to his advantage. He has a fearless approach to the game.
His desire to play basketball at the college level while he completed his degree, with a high GPA he would be a great student-athlete. He has great family support. We feel he will be a great addition to a college program.
