Next Bench LLC - Monthly News Letter

Kobe Barker is a Next Bench player who has been in our college prep program since May of 2023. Kobe who was playing for Presentation College that had recently cut the basketball program. Kobe is a small guard who was struggling to find a new college program to continue his playing basketball and find a academic program he was interested in. More wanting to find a place to keep playing the game. Kobe worked with Jaimie Perkins, Director & Athletic Advisor to guide him in his search, providing the support, education, and building his profile. Kobe shows true dedication by not only working with Jaimie, but taking the initiative to be involved in his recruiting process. As he was applying and learning to communicate with coaches, Jaimie was able to give him advice, and was able to guide him through promoting him to coaches at colleges that he was interested in. He has had very little time to find a program, what was impressive was the communication and persistence he presented has been remarkable. With the hard work Kobe was gaining interest with coaches, with little video to show them, he still was getting offers, Clarke University was willing to take him immediately and Kobe is still considering the opportunity, However, he had offers from some private NAIA, Junior Colleges and with family in Texas he reached out to Texas College in Tyler, TX. He will play under the guidance of Head Coach Matt Cross. What makes him an outstanding Next Bench player is his ability to take his recruiting into his own hand, giving 100% dedication to get accepted and strong communication. We have enjoyed working and getting to know Kobe Next Bench will continue to support his college education and athletic aspirations.
