Maddux is a high IQ player who has been producing at the point guard and shooting guard position. Maddux plays for Albuquerque Institute of Math & Science (AIMS) which is a very highly academic based school. Getting to know Maddux it is obvious he is very intelligent. He will do very well academically at the college level.
As a player, Maddux has been impressive to watch. If you want this guy to do something for you on the court you give him the marching orders and he will produce and execute it. He is good at finding opportunities on the court for him and his teammates to put points on the board. He is not a selfish player which is great value to build a team first atmosphere.
His high school team was able to win the NMCSAA Championship this season, looking at the stats Maddux was producing he was a big part of that success. Maddux was producing an avg. of 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals per game. Each season he has increased in stats and was able to lead in areas of points, steals, and assist. He has been the captain of his team all three years, Freshman year was cancelled due to COVID.
As a college coach I do believe he would be a great fit for a NAIA, D3, D2 college. I think academically he is ready for university and can be a great addition to a basketball program at the college level.

I have loved playing basketball since I was four years old and I aspire to play in college. Since sixth grade, I have attended school at Albuquerque Institute of Math and Science (AIMS), which is the #1 academic school in New Mexico (ranked #52 in the United States). I will graduate with a 3.0 GPA (anticipated) in May 2024.
I have been a varsity starter at point guard for 3 years since 10th grade (9th grade season was cancelled due to COVID). For three years, I have led my team in minutes, scoring, and assists. In 2022-2023 as a junior, I averaged 22.91 minutes per game, 17.4 points, 2.0 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 3.1 steals, and 1.5 turnovers per game, leading my team to the New Mexico Charter School Athletic Association semifinals. Also, I have played AAU basketball for the past three years for New Mexico Fierce. In the 2023 Spring/ Summer season, over 33 games I averaged 26 minutes, 5.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 turnovers per game. I am a late bloomer athletically.
I continue to grow in height, weight, and athletic ability. Based on developing later, playing at a small high school, and only playing AAU for three seasons, I have not had much exposure, and because I have rapidly developed physically over the past year, I believe I will take scouts and coaches by surprise and will be an “under the radar” steal for a college program. Because I am strong academically, I am an ultimate team player, possess strong leadership, humility, and coachability, I believe I will be able to provide strong contributions to a college program.
